The Truth About Moving Abroad: It’s Not Just About Savings

When most people imagine moving abroad, they picture having tens of thousands of dollars saved or landing a remote job that pays in U.S. dollars. The truth? That wasn’t my story.

When I made the leap to Europe, I didn’t have endless savings or a cushy remote job. What I did have was strategy, resourcefulness, and the willingness to piece together opportunities. I downsized my life before leaving, used my PTO payout as a launch pad, and joined a program that got me abroad without breaking the bank.

Once I arrived, I learned that sustaining life abroad meant layering income streams, teaching, tutoring, ghostwriting, wellness workshops, even performing as a spoken word artist. Each step wasn’t glamorous, but it built a foundation that kept me abroad for four years.

If you’ve been dreaming of living overseas but keep telling yourself “I can’t afford it,” I’m here to challenge that belief. There are more pathways than you think, and it doesn’t require being rich to start.

👉🏽 I’ll be sharing exactly how I did it (and how you can too) in my upcoming session: The MOVE Method: How I Funded and Sustained My Life Abroad. Come ready to take notes, because this is where strategy meets possibility.
